Parent producer is a concept developed by SevenFifty to accommodate products that use brand names on the front label and where the producer name is usually located on the back label.
When the ‘Producer’ is not identified on the front label but appears on the back label as ‘Produced and bottled by’, the Parent Producer field is used. In this instance, the Brand that appears on the front label is considered the ‘Producer’. This allows users to search by either name. The Parent Producer acts like an umbrella company.
